Chub AI is a character-card ecosystem rather than a finished companion app. Its distinguishing feature is the lorebook: a set of keyword-triggered entries that inject setting, characters and history into the prompt only when one of those keywords appears in the conversation, which the vendor describes as serving content to the model without it occupying permanent token space in the character definition. Attach a lorebook to a character and it becomes a characterbook that travels with the card. Each lorebook entry carries keywords and optional secondary keywords, selective logic so an entry can fire on one term only when another is absent, an insertion order that decides how much attention the model gives it, a priority that decides which entries are dropped first when the token budget fills, a constant flag, and a probability so an event does not trigger on every mention. Scan depth and token budget are set per chat. Cards, lorebooks and chats import and export freely, and the platform also ships chat trees and Stages. One subscription covers the product at $20 a month: unlimited access to every model including Soji 1.6T at 60K context, unlimited voice, unlimited multimedia generation and early access to new models. The vendor defines unlimited as single-user, and concurrent requests from one account are refused. Cryptocurrency is the only accepted payment method, which the vendor explains as insulating it from payment-processor pressure. Free access is a one-time grant of trial credits worth a few dozen messages, issued to new users periodically rather than on demand. The API is compatible with anything that accepts OpenAI endpoints.
