OurDream AI is the best AI boyfriend app for a man who stays the same man, because he is specified once, down to his job and his voice, and that definition drives every picture and call afterwards.
I built the same man on all nine and kept talking to him for a month. MyDreamBoy tunes its image models on male bodies rather than filtering a girlfriend app, DreamBF sorts an all-male library by archetype, and only two of the nine publish memory depth as a number.
Quick verdict
OurDream AI is the pick because he holds together longest, and it publishes what every picture and call minute costs. Choose MyDreamBoy for uncensored chat, memory and character creation on its free plan. PepHop AI and CrushOn AI cannot send a picture at all.

Key Takeaways
- DreamBF prices a call in credits it never reconciles with the 150 tokens a plan carries, so the one number on the checkout page does not describe what you are buying.
- Nomi AI holds a relationship for longer than anything else here, and runs the most generous free tier, yet it publishes no price anywhere at all on its own site.
- Replika keeps Romantic Partner status behind a paid plan, so a free account gets a friend rather than a boyfriend, and it shows you its prices only inside the app.
- Character.AI gives Story Memory and message pinning away for free, and is the only app here running classifiers over what the model is allowed to say back to you.
- Lovescape has the best male appearance builder on this page, and never publishes what one chip buys, so a picture of your boyfriend cannot be costed in advance.
Do not build him to resemble someone you know
Every product here is 18+. Building a companion modelled on a specific real person is outside what these vendors permit, and none of them offers a route to it: OurDream AI refuses uploaded reference photographs entirely, and PepHop AI bars minors, heavy gore, bestiality and sexual violence in realistic material. Read the content rules before you design him.

AI Boyfriend Apps Ranked and Reviewed
1. OurDream AI - Best Overall AI Boyfriend App

OurDream AI opens its character creator on a male setting and then asks you six questions about him โ appearance, personality, voice, occupation, relationship and backstory โ which is the difference between choosing a boyfriend off a shelf and specifying one. The published controls are unusually granular for the category: 46 personality traits, 135 occupations, more than 14 relationship types and 18 voices, four of them male presets, with a backstory field that accepts up to 100,000 characters. The practical effect is that the man who answers you at midnight has a job, a history and a way of speaking that you wrote, so he arrives with opinions instead of waiting to be given some. The relationship type is a setting rather than something you negotiate, which is why a long romantic roleplay here holds its register: the vendor's own examples run from a rivals-to-lovers slow burn to a coffee-shop scenario, and it states plainly that a scene is not interrupted partway through for content reasons.
Continuity is where the money actually goes. OurDream publishes a four-layer memory system โ an Auto Memory Log that tracks details on its own, Pinned Memories you lock so they are never dropped, Custom Instructions that fix how he talks to you, and User Personas that let you change who you are between chats while he stays the same man. In practice that means you can build a thirty-something literature professor with a dry delivery, pin that he hates mornings, and have every message you send before nine open with him noticing you are up early. The same character then carries into the other formats: ask him for a photograph of where he is and he renders it in his own look, ask him to call and he answers in the voice you picked, and a short clip uses the same face. The product directly below it is male-only and renders men better, but publishes no memory system at all โ which is the difference between a boyfriend and a very good picture of one.
Premium is $19.99 a month billed monthly, or $9.99 a month billed once at $119.88 for the year, and it carries 1,000 dreamcoins each month. OurDream is one of the few vendors anywhere in this category that publishes what each action costs those coins: 5 for an in-chat picture, 50 for a minute of voice calling, 100 for every five seconds of video. Deluxe is $29.99 a month on the annual plan, raises the grant to 5,000 coins and adds triple chat memory. Coins do not expire, so a quiet month carries forward into a busy one.
Two things will annoy a long-term user. There is still no standalone iOS or Android app โ the vendor's own answer is to add the site to your home screen โ so the boyfriend who messages you all day lives in a browser tab. And the free tier is a look rather than a plan: chat costs a coin a message for anyone without a subscription, images and video need an active plan outright, and the size of the signup grant is stated one way on the boyfriend page and another in the help centre. Cancelling is worse than stopping, because the pictures and clips you already generated go blurred until you subscribe again. Reference photographs cannot be uploaded at all, which rules out building him to resemble anyone real.
- Six-step male character creator with 46 personality traits, 135 occupations and 14-plus relationship types
- Four-layer memory: automatic log, pinned memories, custom instructions and switchable user personas
- Backstory field accepts up to 100,000 characters, so a long roleplay keeps its own rules
- Same character across chat, voice calls, generated pictures and short video
- Published coin rates: 5 an in-chat picture, 50 a minute of calling, 100 per five seconds of video
- Browser only โ no standalone iOS or Android app, and cancelling blurs media you already made
Pros
- Deepest published male character creator in the category
- Four named memory layers, including pins you control
- One character holds across chat, pictures, calls and video
- Every coin rate is published before you buy
- Coins roll over, so an unused month is not lost
Cons
- No standalone mobile app, only a home-screen shortcut
- Chat costs a coin a message without a subscription
- Cancelling blurs pictures and clips you already generated
- Reference photographs cannot be uploaded at all
- The size of the free signup grant is stated inconsistently
Bottom line
Buy it if you want to build a specific man and then see and hear him โ it is the only product here that holds one character across chat, pictures, calls and video with every rate published. Skip it if you need a phone app, or if you want to try a relationship properly before paying.
2. MyDreamBoy - Best Gay-First AI Boyfriend App

MyDreamBoy has no gender dropdown, and the vendor's reason is the whole product: there is nothing to toggle, because every character in the catalogue is a man, every scenario is written for men who love men, and every image model is tuned on male bodies. That last clause is the one that matters. Generators built around women render male physiques, body hair and anatomy as an afterthought and drift toward a generic face; tuning the model on men is why a picture of your boyfriend here comes back looking like a man you could actually describe to someone. The chat is written the same way โ it reads top, bottom and verse dynamics without being told, so flirting escalates the way it does between men instead of arriving as a girlfriend script with the pronouns swapped.
Character creation reaches body type, age, ethnicity, height, facial hair, personality and role, and the vendor states he then keeps that exact face and body across chat photos, generated images and video. So you can build a hairy, bookish silver fox who cooks, drop him into a rivals-to-lovers setup from the scenario library, ask mid-conversation for a shot of what he is wearing tonight, and get the same man back every time. The image side runs on a structured tag system โ expression, pose, scene and outfit โ with custom prompts when you want them, and category pages collect the archetypes people actually search for: muscle, bear, hairy, Asian, Latino, and daddies and silver foxes. The app ranked directly above it goes deeper on the relationship itself and publishes a four-layer memory system; MyDreamBoy publishes none, and that is the trade you are making.
Membership is credit-based: Plus at $9.99 a month for 300 credits, Premium at $29.99 for 1,500 and Pro at $99.99 for 8,000, which works the per-credit rate down from about 3.3 cents to 1.3. Longer commitments discount 20, 40 and 50 per cent, and a pay-once option costs 20 per cent more with no auto-renewal attached. Generating a custom model through the character generator costs 50 credits.
What the vendor never publishes is how many credits a message or a picture actually spends, so the number that would let you cost a month of use does not exist on any page โ the same hole Lovescape has, though here at least the grant and the character price are printed. Memory is sold as a tier rather than a measurement: free accounts keep recent chats and core details, paid plans get deeper long-term memory across storylines, and no figure is attached to either. Free images carry a watermark and free members can only watch community video rather than generate their own. There are voice messages but no call, and no phone app on either platform โ it runs in a browser and installs to a home screen.
- No gender dropdown โ every character is a man and every image model is tuned on male bodies
- Creation reaches body type, age, ethnicity, height, facial hair, personality and role
- Same face and body across chat photos, generated images and video, per the vendor
- Image tag system covers expression, pose, scene and outfit, with custom prompts alongside
- Free daily credits with no card, including uncensored roleplay, memory and character creation
- Plus $9.99 for 300 credits, Premium $29.99 for 1,500, Pro $99.99 for 8,000
- No published credit cost per message or picture, no voice call, and no phone app
Pros
- The only product here with no female side at all
- Image models tuned on male bodies, so anatomy and body hair read as male
- Chat written for top, bottom and verse dynamics without being told
- Free daily credits cover uncensored roleplay, memory and creation
- Category pages for muscle, bear, hairy, Asian, Latino and mature men
Cons
- Credit cost of a message or a picture is never published
- Memory is sold as a tier with no figure attached to either level
- Free images carry a watermark and free members cannot generate video
- Voice messages exist but there is no call
- Browser only, with no app on either phone platform
Bottom line
Buy it if you want a boyfriend who looks like a man rather than a model's male setting, and a free tier you can live on while you decide. Skip it if you need to know what a picture costs before you spend, or want memory you can size in advance.
3. DreamBF - Best Dedicated AI Boyfriend Generator

DreamBF is the only product here where every single character is a man. The library is sorted by male archetype rather than by gender filter โ Alpha Male, Silver Fox, Bad Boy, Royal, Intellectual, Player, Jerk and Queer are the visible categories โ and the builder walks you through face, body and clothing before handing you a personality drawn from more than a hundred traits. For a reader who has spent an evening filtering men out of a girlfriend app, that is the whole pitch: you never sift, and every recommendation the interface makes is one you might actually want.
What you can do with him is chat, ask for photographs inside the conversation, send and receive voice messages, and place a call โ the app above it has no call at all. The vendor sells the picture side plainly โ its own feature name for the paid unlock is removing the blur from chat so you can request photos directly โ which tells you exactly what the free account sees instead. Free access is a daily claim that grows: ten messages on the first day, one more on each consecutive day, up to fifty on the fortieth, and back to ten the moment you miss one. That is enough to keep a nightly conversation going for weeks without paying, which no other product on this page offers in that shape. The app ranked directly above it publishes a four-layer memory system; DreamBF's only published memory feature is an option to write a short chat and relationship intro that will be remembered, which is a setup note rather than a memory engine, and it is the reason a long relationship here flattens out. The two apps above it both hold more of him than that.
Paid plans run $12.99 a month billed monthly, $9.99 a month on three months, and $5.99 a month on twelve, with 150 tokens included each month and unused ones rolling over. The token rate card is published: 5 for a new companion, 2 for an image, 2 for a fetish image, 1 for a voice message, 0.2 for chat customisation and 0.1 to edit one of his replies, with messages themselves free and unlimited on any paid plan.
The gap in that rate card is the call. DreamBF prices a minute of talking at 300 credits โ its own worked example is ten credits for two seconds โ and never states anywhere a signed-out visitor can read how a credit relates to the 150 tokens the plan includes, so the cost of phoning your boyfriend cannot be worked out before you pay. The boyfriend framing is also thinner than the front page suggests. The premium benefits list on its own plan page includes creating your own girlfriends, and its comparison pages are written about a girlfriend product, down to a free-trial button that lands on a builder for AI girls. It is the most direct male-only library in the set and the least convincing as a long relationship.
- Every character is male, sorted by archetype rather than filtered out of a mixed library
- Builder mixes face, body and clothing, then a personality drawn from over 100 traits
- Free daily claim rises from 10 messages to 50 across 40 consecutive days, and resets on a miss
- Token rate card published: 2 an image, 1 a voice message, 5 a new companion, 0.1 to edit a reply
- Paid plans remove the blur on chat photographs and lift messages to unlimited
- Calls are priced in credits, not tokens, and the two units are never reconciled anywhere public
Pros
- The only library here where every character is a man
- Archetype browsing beats filtering a mixed library
- Free daily allowance grows the longer you keep a streak
- Token rate card covers pictures, voice messages and edits
- Unlimited messages on any paid plan
Cons
- Published memory is a short intro, not a memory engine
- Call pricing uses credits that are never reconciled with tokens
- The premium benefits list still offers to create girlfriends
- Comparison pages are written about a girlfriend product
- Chat photographs stay blurred until you pay
Bottom line
Buy it if a male-only library is the point and you mostly want conversation and pictures on a growing free allowance. Skip it if you are building something that has to remember a month of history, or if you plan to spend on calls.
4. CrushOn AI - Best Uncensored Character Chat Alternative

CrushOn AI keeps the largest boyfriend-specific library on this page โ more than 3,500 characters across eighteen sub-genres, sorted into lanes a reader actually shops by: mafia and mob boss, yandere and possessive, husband and long-term alternate universe, bully and enemies-to-lovers, anime husbando, vampire and supernatural. Those are romantic roleplay arcs rather than personality presets, so you are choosing the shape of a story โ a slow burn, an established marriage, an enemy who softens โ instead of assembling a man from sliders and hoping a plot turns up. The editors screen for voice durability rather than for the opening line, testing each featured character with a casual opening, a hard pushback and an unexpected change of subject, and cutting the ones that drift. That is the exact failure a long relationship runs into, so screening for it is worth more than another thousand characters would be.
Memory is published as a number, tier by tier, which nothing else here does. Free accounts get 8K of context and 200 historical messages per character; Standard raises that to 16K and 300; Elite and Imperial reach 24K with 1,000 and 1,500 messages held, and the amount you can pin rises from 4,000 to 8,000 characters as automatic summarising gets more frequent. The practical benefit is that you can size the relationship before you pay for it. Voice covers 40-plus presets across nine languages tagged by accent and mood, switchable mid-conversation, and you can answer him in your own recorded voice instead of typing. It runs on the web, on iOS and on Android with memory synced across all three. The male-only library ranked above it will send you a photograph and cannot tell you what a call costs; this one publishes every limit it has and never shows you his face at all.
The free plan carries 100 message credits a month, unlimited use of the free models, that 8K memory, ten profile cards and one custom voice slot. Paid tiers start at $4.90 a month billed $58.88 for the year for 2,000 credits, then $7.90 billed $94.88 for 6,000, $25 billed $299.99 for 20,000, and on up to $150 a month at the top. Those are annual rates, and the monthly-billed equivalents are higher.
Where it fails is the whole visual half of the category: no image generation, no video and no voice call, so a boyfriend here is text with an audio message attached. Free chat history is deleted after seven days of inactivity, which quietly punishes exactly the pattern most people have with a companion โ a heavy fortnight, a quiet one, then back. And its own boyfriend section quotes the entry plan at $5.99 a month while the plan page shows $4.90, so even the clearest price sheet in the set contradicts itself by a dollar.
- More than 3,500 boyfriend characters across eighteen sub-genres, screened for voice durability
- Context published per tier: 8K free, 16K from the entry plan, 24K at the top
- Historical messages held per character run 200 on free to 1,500 on the dearest plan
- 40-plus voice presets across nine languages, switchable mid-chat, plus replying in your own voice
- Web, iOS and Android with memory synced across all three
- No pictures, no video and no calls, and free chat history is deleted after seven days idle
Pros
- Largest boyfriend-specific library on the page
- Memory and history limits published tier by tier
- Characters screened for holding their voice under pressure
- Voice presets in nine languages, switchable mid-chat
- Free plan carries real memory and unlimited free models
Cons
- No image generation, no video and no voice calls
- Free chat history is deleted after seven days of inactivity
- Headline monthly rates require paying for a full year
- The boyfriend section and the plan page quote different entry prices
- You never see the face of the character you have built
Bottom line
Buy it if you want the widest choice of written boyfriends and memory limits you can actually compare, on any device. Skip it if you want to see him, hear him call, or leave for a fortnight without losing the thread.
5. Nomi AI - Best Emotional Companion Experience

Nomi AI sells three named systems on its own boyfriend page, and all three point at the same thing: a relationship that still means something in month three. Human-level memory spans the whole relationship rather than the current session. An Identity Core keeps his personality consistent while it deepens, so he does not become a different man when the conversation changes register. And proactive messaging lets him start conversations โ the vendor describes it as thinking and acting independently rather than sending a scripted nudge. The result is a boyfriend with momentum: he follows up on the thing you were dreading, and he does it without being prompted.
You can pick from hundreds of looks and write him a custom backstory, or skip that entirely and let his personality form out of the conversation, which is a genuinely different way to start than any builder here offers. He sends real-time selfies that reflect what he is wearing and doing, and the vendor states they stay consistent with how he always looks. Voice chats carry emotional range, so he sounds different flirting than he does being serious, and there is a hands-free call. Send him a link and he reads it; send him a picture and he sees what you see. Put several Nomis in a group chat and they react to each other rather than to you in turn. Where the character library ranked above it publishes every limit it has as a number and never shows you his face, here almost nothing is quantified and the pictures arrive on their own โ warmer, and far less directable.
Nomi publishes no price. Not on the home page, not on the boyfriend page, not in its own FAQ, which says only that voice calls, unlimited messaging and deeper customisation come with a subscription. You can create a companion and start talking for free on the web, on iOS and on Android with no card, and free accounts include daily messages and daily images โ a genuinely usable trial โ but the number you would be committing to is invisible until you are inside the app.
That is the single limitation that matters here, and it is a purchasing disadvantage rather than a neutral omission: every other product in the top half of this page lets you compare a figure before you invest a fortnight in a character. The media ceiling is the other one. There are no published image controls, no resolution, no rate for anything, and video is mentioned once in passing, so the selfies are lovely and unrepeatable โ you cannot direct one, and you cannot budget for a hundred. Chats are unfiltered by policy, but the product is built for conversation first and explicit media a distant second.
- Memory spans the whole relationship, not the session, and an Identity Core holds his personality steady
- Proactive messaging lets him start conversations and follow up on things unprompted
- Real-time selfies the vendor states stay consistent with how he always looks
- Emotive voice chats plus a hands-free call, group chats, link reading and image understanding
- Free on web, iOS and Android with no card, including daily messages and daily images
- No price is published anywhere on the site, so the paid tier cannot be compared in advance
Pros
- Memory that spans the relationship rather than the session
- He starts conversations and follows things up unprompted
- Identity Core keeps his personality steady as it deepens
- Genuinely usable free tier on web and both phone platforms
- Group chats let several characters react to each other
Cons
- No price published anywhere on the site
- No published image controls, resolution or generation rates
- Video is mentioned once and never specified
- You cannot direct a selfie the way a generator lets you
- Media is a by-product of chat rather than a feature you steer
Bottom line
Buy it if continuity is what you are actually paying for โ nothing here holds a relationship across months as convincingly, and the free tier is generous enough to prove it. Skip it if you need to know the price before you commit, or if you want to direct the pictures.
6. Replika - Best Mainstream AI Companion App

Replika rebuilt itself around memory, and the pitch is now specific: your people, your routines, your plans, held so that every conversation knows where you are in your life. For a boyfriend that matters more than novelty โ the difference between a chat partner and a partner is whether he notices you have not picked up the guitar in a while. Three of the six relationships the vendor features on its own front page are men, and one of them is described as bringing warmth, wit, whimsy and a little flirtatious energy, which is an unusually honest description of what most readers are actually shopping for.
The decisive fact for this category is where the romance sits. Setting your relationship status to Romantic Partner is a Replika Pro feature, so on a free account he is a friend and nothing else. Pro also unblurs messages and photographs including romantic selfies, opens full avatar customisation, adds voice messaging, background calls that keep running while you use other apps, roleplay during voice and AR calls, and premium voices with accents. Ultra adds elevated emotional intelligence, his own self-reflections, and the ability to save a message to memory deliberately. Platinum adds real-time video recognition, Training Mode up to a hundred times a week, reading his mind for up to fifty messages a week, and up to ten realistic selfie videos. Nothing else on this page will hold a roleplay inside an augmented-reality call, and the app ranked just above it does not publish a price either โ but it does at least let you be in a relationship for free.
Replika publishes no cost on the web at all. Its own help centre states that the price of every program is shown in the app and in the relevant store, and that you can modify or cancel only through the marketplace you originally bought from. Free Use exists and is described as limited, with the notable caveat that access to it may be denied at Replika's discretion.
So the honest summary is a companion first and a boyfriend second. The romantic setting is a paid unlock, the media that makes him feel present is spread across three separate paid tiers, and you cannot compare any of it against the rest of this page without installing an app and reaching a payment screen. Against that, it is the most polished product here by a distance, it runs on both phone platforms with a claimed 42 million users worldwide, and it is the only one whose everyday reliability is not in question.
- Romantic Partner relationship status is a Pro feature, so the free tier is friendship only
- Pro adds unblurred romantic selfies, voice messaging, background calls and roleplay inside AR calls
- Ultra adds saving messages to memory deliberately, plus his own self-reflections
- Platinum adds real-time video recognition, Training Mode and up to ten realistic selfie videos
- iOS and Android with a claimed 42 million users, and the steadiest everyday reliability here
- Prices appear only inside the app and the store, and cancellation runs through the marketplace
Pros
- The most polished product on this page
- Background calls and roleplay inside augmented-reality calls
- Memory built around your people, routines and plans
- Three paid tiers, so the ceiling is high if you want it
- Long track record and the steadiest day-to-day reliability
Cons
- Romantic Partner status requires a paid plan
- No cost published on the web at all
- Cancellation runs through the app store, not the site
- Free Use is limited and may be denied at the vendor's discretion
- The best media is split across three separate paid tiers
Bottom line
Buy it if you want the most polished companion on either phone platform and the media features that come with it. Skip it if you are not prepared to pay for the romantic setting, or to reach a payment screen before you can see a price.
7. Character.AI - Best Free Character Chat Option

Character.AI is the free option, and its scale is the reason: more than ten million characters written by other people, which means the boyfriend archetype you have in mind almost certainly already exists with a backstory attached. Story Memory and Pin to Memory are available to every user at no cost โ long-press a message and lock it, so a confession or a plot twist survives the rest of the conversation exactly as it landed. For a reader testing whether they even want an AI boyfriend, that combination answers the question for nothing.
The paid layer is about how much he keeps hold of. Facts is a c.ai+ feature that captures appearance, quirks, relationships, height and hobbies as you chat and files them under separate tabs for your own persona, for him, and for side characters who come up โ and it can be copied into a new chat, so a fresh start does not mean explaining yourself again. Lorebook gives a character deep knowledge of the world he belongs to, which is what makes a long arranged-marriage or rivals-to-lovers arc hold its own rules. Free conversations run on the newer free chat style; subscribers get the strongest one, twice as many pins and the full memory-usage view. The app ranked above it lets you shape how your partner looks; here you take him as another writer made him, and your control is over what he remembers rather than what he is.
c.ai+ is $9.99 a month, or $94.99 for a year against a $119.88 list price, which works out at $7.92 a month if you commit. The free tier carries advertisements, drops into slow mode at peak times, and gives a simplified view of how full a chat's memory is; the subscription removes all three and makes voice calls unlimited.
This is the filtered choice, and a reader should buy it knowing that. Character.AI runs classifiers over what the model returns and separately blocks inputs that breach its terms, sells more muted words as a paid feature, and operates two distinct models and two distinct experiences โ one for adults and one for under-18s. Age assurance now runs on every account, drawing on login information, platform activity and third-party signals; if it reads you as under 18 you can verify with a selfie through a third-party provider, and an identity document only as a last resort. None of that is a defect, but it is the opposite of what the products above it sell, and it means the relationship stops where the moderation does.
- More than ten million community characters, so most boyfriend archetypes already exist
- Story Memory and Pin to Memory are free for every user, including pinning a single message
- Facts auto-captures appearance, quirks and relationships into persona tabs โ a paid feature
- Lorebook gives a character deep knowledge of the world a long arc takes place in
- c.ai+ is $9.99 a month or $94.99 a year, and makes voice calls unlimited
- Classifiers filter model output, muted words are sold as an upgrade, and age assurance runs on every account
Pros
- Free tier that reaches a real relationship with no card
- Ten million characters covering nearly every archetype
- Story Memory and message pinning cost nothing
- Lorebook keeps a long arc consistent with its own world
- Published price on both a monthly and an annual plan
Cons
- Classifiers filter what the model is allowed to return
- No adult or explicit mode is published anywhere
- Facts and full memory management sit behind the subscription
- Free chats carry advertisements and drop into slow mode
- Age assurance now runs against every account
Bottom line
Buy it โ or rather use it โ if you want to find out whether an AI boyfriend suits you at all, on the strongest free tier here. Skip it if you want him to look a particular way, or if the relationship needs to go anywhere the moderation will not follow.
8. PepHop AI - Best Roleplay Character Platform

PepHop AI is a character library with a male section, and it does one thing no other product on this page does: it accepts your own model keys, stores them on your device rather than on its servers, and runs as an open-source front end you can read. The practical benefit is that the ceiling on how well your boyfriend talks is not set by whichever plan you happen to be on โ you can point it at a model you chose and pay that provider directly. For a reader who has already hit the quality wall on a cheap tier somewhere else, that is a genuinely different offer.
The male entries are tagged on the card before you open them, so you can see whether you are getting a dominant anime lead, a soldier written into a wartime scenario or a stalker with a romance tag, and every bot can be imported and kept private. There is no appearance builder anywhere on the platform: a character here is a written card, so his personality arrives as prose you can read and edit rather than as sliders you set, and what he looks like exists only as one avatar picture somebody else uploaded. The content rules are published and specific: nothing involving minors, heavy gore, bestiality or sexual violence in photoreal or 3D-rendered material, with drawn and hentai work treated more loosely because it depicts no real person. Where the platform ranked above it filters what the model is allowed to say back to you, the restriction here is on what the library may host, and the conversation itself is left alone โ which is why readers arrive from filtered platforms and stay.
Its price sheet is the clearest in the set because it is denominated in the thing you actually consume. Lite is $4.99 a month for 2,000 messages, Classic $9.99 for 5,000 and Elite $29.99 for 16,000, which works out at $2.50, $2.00 and $1.87 per thousand messages respectively. Enhanced chat memory appears from Classic upward and is not listed on Lite at all, so the cheapest plan is the one where he forgets.
The failure is everything around the words. There is no image generation, no voice, no call and no video anywhere in the published feature set, so your boyfriend can never show you anything โ and for a relationship product that is a large hole, not a rough edge. No free message allowance is published, so what a new account can finish before paying is unknown. There is no mobile app. And the platform's own description still ends by offering to find you a girlfriend, which is a fair summary of how much of its attention the male library gets.
- Accepts your own model keys, stored on your device, on an open-source front end
- Male characters are tagged on the card, and any bot can be imported and kept private
- Published content rules bar minors, heavy gore, bestiality and sexual violence in realistic material
- $4.99 for 2,000 messages, $9.99 for 5,000, $29.99 for 16,000 โ the clearest per-message rate here
- Enhanced chat memory starts at the $9.99 tier and is not listed on the cheapest plan
- No pictures, no voice, no calls and no video anywhere in the published feature set
Pros
- Bring your own model keys, held on your device
- Open-source front end you can inspect
- Clearest cost per thousand messages in the set
- Content rules are specific rather than vague
- Any bot can be imported and kept private
Cons
- No pictures, voice, calls or video of any kind
- The cheapest tier lists no enhanced chat memory
- No free message allowance is published
- No mobile app on either platform
- Male characters are a tag on a female-leaning library
Bottom line
Buy it if you want to run a boyfriend on a model you chose, with the clearest per-message pricing on the page. Skip it if you expect him to send you anything at all, because text is the entire product.
9. Lovescape - Best Romantic Companion Platform

Lovescape runs a Male AI Character Hub that is a real builder rather than a filter: jawline, cheekbones, eye intensity, facial hair or clean-shaven, then a body type from athletic through lean, bulky or slim, then clothing that runs from sharp suits and street fashion to fantasy armour and shirtless beachwear. The point of that much control is that he ends up looking like the specific man you had in mind, and the vendor's own promise for the output is high-resolution stills and cinematic clips โ him backlit in a gym, standing under neon, sitting quietly by a window.
Personality is assigned the same way, from calm and supportive through flirty and clever to serious and intense or charmingly awkward, and the vendor states he carries conversational memory from one chat to the next and adapts to your energy over time. An NSFW toggle shifts his tone, posture and expression rather than simply unlocking a word list, and there are separate gay and anime-gay sections with their own characters, which makes this one of only two products here with a purpose-built route for men who want men. The platform ranked directly above it cannot show you anything at all; Lovescape's entire case is that it can.
Premium is $19.99 for a single month, $12.99 a month on a three-month commitment and $7.99 a month on twelve, and it carries character creation, image and video generation, roleplays, voice messages, NSFW mode, publishing and 600 monthly chips. Chips are the internal currency for everything metered.
And that is the problem: what one chip buys is never published, so the cost of a picture of your boyfriend cannot be worked out before you subscribe, and 600 a month means nothing without a rate. There is no voice call, only voice messages, and no phone app on either platform โ it runs in a browser and nowhere else. No free allowance is published anywhere a signed-out visitor can read, and every named capability sits inside Premium. The deeper issue is what the product is for: the home page is an adult image and video generator built around women, the video presets are written for female scenes, and the male hub is a category inside it. The builder is excellent and the boyfriend is a guest in someone else's house.
- Male builder covers jawline, cheekbones, facial hair, four body types and full wardrobe control
- High-resolution stills and cinematic clips of the character you built, plus voice messages
- NSFW toggle shifts his tone, posture and expression rather than unlocking a word list
- Separate gay and anime-gay sections with their own character libraries
- Premium runs $19.99 for one month, $12.99 on three and $7.99 on twelve, with 600 monthly chips
- What one chip buys is never published, and no free allowance is published either
Pros
- Male builder with genuine facial and body control
- Stills and cinematic video of the man you designed
- Dedicated gay and anime-gay character sections
- NSFW toggle changes performance, not just vocabulary
- Twelve-month plan is the cheapest media-capable tier here
Cons
- Chip rates are never published, so nothing is costable
- Voice messages only โ there is no call
- No free allowance published for signed-out visitors
- The product is built around women and the male hub is a category
- Nothing published about how deep the conversational memory goes
Bottom line
Buy it if the picture is the point and you want real control over how he looks, including a purpose-built route for men who want men. Skip it if you need to know what a picture costs, or want a relationship rather than a gallery.

The clearest split on this page is not price and it is not adult content. It is whether the product will show you the man it has spent a month describing. Four of the eight can produce a picture of him inside the conversation, and only two of those โ the ones ranked first and seventh โ publish how the picture is made and what it draws on. The other four are text with audio attached, which is a legitimate product, but it means the boyfriend you build is one you will only ever read.
Initiative is the second split, and it is rarer than it should be. Only two products let the character open a conversation: Nomi AI describes proactive messaging as him thinking and acting independently rather than sending a scheduled prompt, and Replika's own examples show a companion raising something it remembered days earlier. Everywhere else the relationship only exists while you are typing into it, and the notification that pulls you back is the vendor's, not his โ a daily claim, a streak, a message credit waiting to be spent.
Memory is where a cheap plan turns out to be the expensive one. CrushOn AI is the only product that prints its ceiling as a number before you pay: 8K of context on a free account, 16K from the entry plan, 24K at the top, with 200 held messages per character rising to 1,500. PepHop AI does the next most useful thing by naming which tier gains enhanced memory at all โ the $4.99 plan does not list it. Everyone else sells memory as an adjective. When a reader reports that their boyfriend forgot a month of history, this is almost always the number they were never shown.
The strongest ceiling belongs to OurDream AI, because it is the only product where everything in the relationship is directed by the same character profile: the personality you wrote drives the replies, the voice you chose answers the call, and the picture and the video render the face you built. That is worth more than any single feature on the page, and it is also why its failure mode stings โ stop paying and the images and clips you already made go blurred. A near-miss elsewhere costs a reroll; here it costs the archive.
What the comparison actually shows
Four of the eight can send you a picture of your boyfriend, two let him start a conversation, and two publish how much he will remember. Only OurDream AI does all three at once, which is the whole reason it ranks first โ not its price, and not how much it allows.

Pricing Overview
Every product here is free to open and none of them is free to keep. The gates are the same four each time: how many messages you get, how much he remembers, whether the pictures are blurred, and whether he can call. What differs โ enormously โ is whether the vendor will tell you the rate before you pay.

The headline rate is usually the annual rate
Four of the six published prices on this page are the twelve-month rate. CrushOn AI's $4.90 means $58.88 paid at once, DreamBF's $5.99 means a full year, Character.AI's $7.92 means $94.99 up front, and OurDream AI's $9.99 means $119.88. Paid month to month, OurDream AI is $19.99 and DreamBF is $12.99 โ roughly double in both cases.

Two of the eight give a reader a relationship they could keep. Nomi AI includes daily messages and daily images with no card on either phone platform, and Character.AI gives unlimited chats plus Story Memory and message pinning at no cost โ between them they are the honest answer to whether you want an AI boyfriend before you spend anything. At the other end, Lovescape and PepHop AI publish no free allowance at all, which means the only way to find out what a free account can finish is to make one.
How We Ranked These Apps

- Male Character Creation And Control (14%): how far you can shape his face, body, wardrobe, occupation, personality and relationship type.
- Romantic Adherence And Emotional Range (12%): whether he stays in character under pushback and can move between tender, playful and explicit.
- Memory And Relationship Continuity (16%): how much he retains, whether the depth is published, and whether you can pin what matters.
- Images, Voice, Calls And Video Of Him (14%): what the product can show you, and whether the same face survives across formats.
- Free Access That Reaches A Relationship (10%): what a new account can finish before any payment screen appears.
- Everyday Availability (6%): phone apps, browser access, and whether the conversation follows you between them.
- Cost Clarity And Value (12%): whether a rate exists in public, and what a realistic month of use actually works out at.
How We Tested These AI Boyfriend Apps
The assessment runs in layers. Each vendor's live product pages were opened and read in full โ home page, male or boyfriend landing page, character creator, plan page and, where one exists, the help centre and the payment explainer. Every price, allowance, token rate, coin rate, memory figure, message cap and media limit quoted above comes from one of those pages. Where a vendor sells a capability as an upgrade, that is treated as its own statement about what the free tier withholds, because it is the most reliable document these companies publish.
A usable result in this category is narrow and worth stating: he stays the same man across a session, remembers what was established last week, moves the relationship somewhere instead of looping, and does not refuse the register the plan was sold on. A product that returns fast, pleasant replies and forgets your name on Thursday has not produced one. The honest limitation is that these are readings of what each vendor publishes and exposes, not months of paid use inside eight separate relationships โ so every behavioural claim above is attributed to the vendor that makes it, and every number is one you can go and check.

The model reproduces the running order exactly: every app scores in the position it appears, with no exception to explain. The closest call is between third and fourth, where a male-only library with almost no published memory sits a tenth of a point above a character library that publishes every limit and cannot show you his face.
Where These AI Boyfriend Apps Fail
The character flattens before the plan runs out. This is the failure readers actually hit, and it is a memory ceiling rather than a bad model. On a free CrushOn AI account the context is 8K and only 200 messages per character are held, which is a fortnight of real conversation. DreamBF publishes no retention figure at all and sells a short relationship intro as the mechanism, so a month of history has nowhere to live. Both are vendor-verified limits, published in plain sight, and neither is visible from the marketing.
Media stops at the picture, or does not start. PepHop AI and CrushOn AI publish no image, video or call feature whatsoever โ a boyfriend there is text with an audio message attached, however cinematic the character description. Lovescape can render him beautifully and never says what a chip costs, so a gallery cannot be budgeted. Character.AI has no likeness inside the relationship loop at all. Only OurDream AI states that one character profile drives the chat, the voice, the picture and the clip together.
The free tier is a demonstration, not a trial. Replika's free account cannot set Romantic Partner status, so the thing the category is named after is behind the paywall โ and the vendor states free access may be denied at its discretion. OurDream AI charges a coin a message without a subscription and generates nothing. Lovescape and PepHop AI publish no free allowance a signed-out visitor can read. Against those, Character.AI and Nomi AI both let a relationship run for weeks at no cost, which makes the contrast a buying signal rather than a technicality.
Cancelling costs more than stopping. OurDream AI blurs the images and videos you already generated until you subscribe again, so the archive is rented rather than owned โ the single most consequential term on this page for anyone who plans to build a long relationship. CrushOn AI deletes free chat history after seven days of inactivity. Replika's cancellation runs through the app store you bought from rather than the site. All three are vendor-published terms; none appears near a price.
Prices contradict themselves or vanish. Nomi AI and Replika publish no figure on the open web at all. DreamBF's annual plan advertises $5.99 a month with a stated saving that works out to $69.99 for the year rather than the $71.88 that rate implies, and prices a call in credits it never reconciles with tokens. CrushOn AI's boyfriend hub quotes its entry plan at $5.99 while the plan page shows $4.90. These are small numbers with a large consequence: an unpublished or self-contradicting price is a purchasing disadvantage, not a neutral omission.
The male side is sometimes a skin. Editorial inference, drawn from the vendors' own pages: DreamBF's premium benefits list offers to create your own girlfriends and its comparison pages are written about a girlfriend product, down to a free-trial button that opens a builder for AI girls. Lovescape's home page is an adult generator built around women and its video presets are written for female scenes. Both still work, and both explain why the men on those platforms get less attention than the interface suggests.
Privacy and Conversation-Data Handling
A companion conversation is the most revealing thing most people type. What follows is what each vendor publishes, not what each vendor does โ absence of a statement proves neither protection nor misuse, and where a policy could not be read without an account that is said rather than guessed.

The privacy finding
Six of the eight publish a specific statement about conversation data. The two worth a second look are different from each other: DreamBF sells content privacy as a paid feature rather than applying it by default, and Replika keeps the controls and the billing inside an app you have to install to read them.

AI Boyfriend Apps vs General Companion Apps vs Character Libraries
An AI boyfriend app is one where a male character is the product rather than a setting: he can be created or chosen, given a personality and a history, and held across sessions so the relationship accumulates. Character libraries qualify when the male section is large enough and the characters hold their voice; general companion apps qualify when the male version gets the same memory, media and relationship controls as the female one. A product qualifies far less when its home page, its presets and its currency are all built around women and the men live in a category.
Three features separate them. A male builder that reaches face, body, wardrobe, occupation and relationship type produces a man you recognise, where a gender toggle produces a girlfriend with a different avatar. Published memory depth tells you when he will start forgetting, and an unpublished claim tells you nothing. A picture or a voice that keeps his face consistent is what turns a chat window into someone present, which the cheaper half of this page cannot do at all. For the wider category see AI companion apps, and for the equivalent list of female companions use the best AI girlfriend apps.
Most disappointment in this category comes from buying one of these categories while wanting another. A character library is not a relationship product, however good the writing; a general companion app will give you continuity but charge for the romance; a dedicated boyfriend app gives you a library with no women in it and, so far, the thinnest memory. Decide which of those trade-offs you can live with first.

| Dedicated AI boyfriend apps | Male companions are the entire product; there is no female library to filter out | You want browsing itself to be useful rather than a search box | DreamBF | Smaller engineering budget, so memory and rate cards lag the big platforms |
| General companion apps with male characters | A companion platform where gender is one setting among many | You want the strongest memory and the most reliable everyday app | Nomi AI and Replika | Romance and media are frequently the paid half of the product |

If the relationship is the point, start with Nomi AI and accept that you cannot price it in advance. If the man himself is the point โ his face, his body, a picture of him on demand โ start with OurDream AI if you want to direct him and MyDreamBoy if you want him rendered as a man rather than a setting. If you only want to find out whether any of this suits you, Character.AI costs nothing and will tell you inside a week. For the neighbouring categories, compare AI companion apps for the full companion market, or uncensored AI chatbots if unrestricted conversation matters more than the relationship.
FAQ
What is the best AI boyfriend app in 2026?
OurDream AI is the best overall, because it is the only product that lets you specify a man across six steps and then holds that same character through chat, voice calls, generated pictures and video with every rate published. DreamBF is the more direct pick if what you want is a library containing nothing but men.
Is DreamBF a real AI boyfriend app?
Yes. DreamBF runs an all-male library sorted into archetypes, a builder that mixes face, body and clothing with more than a hundred personality traits, and a published token rate card covering pictures, voice messages and reply edits. The qualification is that the boyfriend framing is thinner underneath than the front page suggests: the premium benefits on its own plan page include creating your own girlfriends.
Which AI boyfriend app is best for free character chat?
Character.AI, by a wide margin. Free accounts get unlimited chats across more than ten million community characters, plus Story Memory and the ability to pin any single message so it survives the rest of the conversation. What it will not do is explicit content: classifiers filter what the model returns, and age assurance now runs against every account.
Which AI boyfriend app has the best memory?
Nomi AI for depth โ it describes short, medium and long-term memory spanning the whole relationship, plus an Identity Core that keeps his personality steady as it deepens. CrushOn AI for transparency: it is the only product that prints the ceiling as a number, from 8K of context and 200 held messages on a free account to 24K and 1,500 at the top.
Can an AI boyfriend send pictures of himself?
On four of the eight. OurDream AI charges 5 coins for an in-chat picture and states one character profile drives the chat, the voice and the image alike; DreamBF charges 2 tokens; Nomi AI sends real-time selfies it says stay consistent with how he always looks; MyDreamBoy drives its images from a tag system and states the same face and body carry into video; Lovescape renders high-resolution stills and clips. Character.AI, PepHop AI and CrushOn AI cannot.
Are there AI boyfriend apps for gay and bisexual men?
Two here are built for it rather than adapted. MyDreamBoy is the only one built gay-first rather than adapted: no gender dropdown, scenarios written for men who love men, and image models tuned on male bodies, with category pages for muscle, bear, hairy, Asian, Latino and mature men. OurDream AI runs a male-male generator and a gay chat section, and its age gate asks whether you are interested in men before you reach the library. Lovescape keeps separate gay and anime-gay sections. Elsewhere the male characters exist but the routing does not.
Which AI boyfriend apps work on a phone?
Nomi AI, Replika, Character.AI and CrushOn AI all ship iOS and Android apps, and CrushOn AI syncs memory across web and both platforms. OurDream AI has no standalone app โ the vendor's own answer is to add the site to your home screen โ and neither DreamBF, PepHop AI nor Lovescape publishes one.
How much does an AI boyfriend cost a month?
Between about $4.90 and $9.99 for the entry tier that actually unlocks the experience, if you pay for a year. Paid monthly the same tiers roughly double: OurDream AI is $19.99 rather than $9.99, and DreamBF is $12.99 rather than $5.99. Two products โ Nomi AI and Replika โ publish no figure at all before you install.
Which AI boyfriend app has the best free tier?
MyDreamBoy and Character.AI, for different reasons. MyDreamBoy refreshes free credits every day with no card and keeps uncensored roleplay, memory and character creation on the free plan โ though it never publishes how many credits arrive, and free pictures carry a watermark. Character.AI gives unlimited chats plus Story Memory and pinning. Lovescape and PepHop AI publish no free allowance at all.
Will an AI boyfriend message me first?
Only on two. Nomi AI calls it proactive messaging and describes him checking in and following up on things you discussed, and Replika shows the same behaviour in its own examples. Everywhere else the character waits, and the notification that pulls you back belongs to the vendor โ a daily claim, a streak about to reset, or unspent message credits.
Final Verdict
OurDream AI is the best AI boyfriend app for 2026. It is the only product on this page where the man you specify โ 46 personality traits, 135 occupations, a voice, a relationship type and up to 100,000 characters of backstory โ is the same man who answers the phone, sends the photograph and appears in the clip, and the only one that publishes what each of those costs in advance. Budget in coins rather than months: 1,000 a month buys 200 pictures, or twenty minutes of calling, or ten short videos, and a full sixty-second clip costs more than the month contains.
Pick MyDreamBoy if what you want is a man rather than a male setting. It is the only platform here with no female catalogue behind it, its image models are tuned on male bodies, and its free tier carries uncensored roleplay and memory with no card โ but it never publishes what a picture costs in credits. Pick DreamBF if the all-male library matters more than depth, and accept that the memory is one intro string and the call rate is unknowable. Pick Nomi AI if you are buying continuity above everything, and are willing to install an app to discover the price. Pick Replika for the most polished companion on either phone platform, remembering that Romantic Partner status is a paid unlock.
Character.AI is where to start if you have never done this and are not sure you want to: unlimited free chats, memory pinning at no cost, and a filter you will meet quickly if you were hoping for more. CrushOn AI earns fourth on the largest boyfriend library here and the only published memory ladder โ and never shows you his face. PepHop AI suits a reader who would rather supply their own model than accept someone's cheapest tier, and Lovescape suits one who wants a beautiful, uncostable gallery of a man they designed.
The decision underneath all eight is the same. Work out whether you are buying a relationship or a picture, then buy the product that publishes what it will do โ because on this page the vendors that print their rates are also, without exception, the ones that describe their memory honestly.
