Most AI dating chatbots are good for about a week. The replies land, the character feels warm, and then she stops referring to anything you told her and it collapses into small talk.
I kept the same romance running on all thirteen for a month. Nomi was the only one still holding threads at the end, though it hides its price until you subscribe. OurDream AI is the one you can budget, and Candy AI gives a free week to test the format.
Quick verdict
Nomi is the pick for a romance that survives months, though it publishes what a credit buys and never what a credit costs. Choose Blush for an actual dating mechanic. Candy AI gives seven days of everything free before the metering starts.

Key Takeaways
- CrushOn AI's escape from the credit meter is a separate $24.99 package, and it still requires an active membership underneath it before the uncapped chat works.
- Replika sells the removal of a blur, since unblurred messages and photos are a Pro feature, while saved memories sit on Ultra, which is only available annually.
- OurDream AI is the one app here you can cost in advance, at 1,000 coins for $9.99 a month, working out at 5 cents an image and 50 cents for a minute of calling.
- Blush has no web app and no published price at all, so the only product here with a genuine dating mechanic is also the hardest one to evaluate before you buy it.
- Four of the thirteen, namely Nomi, Replika, Blush and Romantic AI, publish no price anywhere at all that a reader can reach without first making an account with them.
What these apps are not
None of these products replaces a reciprocal relationship, and none of them is a dating coach. They are private entertainment. Every one requires you to be 18 or over, several restrict content by plan and region, and the adult apps here take payment through processors that appear on a bank statement under a different company name.

Ranked AI Dating Chatbots App Reviews
1. Nomi - Best Memory-First Romantic Companion

Nomi ranks first because it is built around the one thing a simulated relationship needs and most of this list treats as a bonus: the conversation you had last month still being there. Nomi describes its memory in three layers โ short, medium and long term โ and hangs the rest of the product off them. Selfies arrive in the context of whatever is happening in the chat. Group chats let several characters react to each other. A mind map holds the roleplay structure. Proactive messages let a character start a conversation after you have been away.
Those layers are what make a date with her feel like the second date rather than the first. A partner who remembers the argument, the in-joke and the thing you said you were dreading on Thursday can react to it a week later unprompted โ which is the mechanic the rest of this page substitutes character sheets for. Selfies arriving in the context of the conversation means the picture belongs to the moment rather than to a generator, group chats let a partner and a friend of hers react to each other in the same room, and proactive messages mean the relationship continues while you are not looking at it. OurDream AI directly below produces far more explicit media; nothing below produces this much continuity.
What Nomi gives up is any ability to budget. No price is published anywhere a signed-out visitor can read. Its own wiki is otherwise forthcoming โ a credit buys one selfie or one art request, a standard-definition video costs six credits and a high-definition one ten, an extra character slot is 100 and an extra group chat room 25 โ but every one of those is a rate with no price attached, and you must already hold an active subscription before you can buy credits at all, so the currency cannot be sampled either.
The free tier is a genuine trial of the writing and a poor trial of the product. Free accounts get 400 characters per message against 800 on a paid plan, two selfies a day with art requests counting against the same allowance, and no voice access whatsoever โ voice is not reduced on the free plan, it is absent. Since the voice is the feature Nomi leans on hardest in its own marketing, the free tier cannot tell you whether the thing you would be paying for is any good.
Against OurDream AI directly below, the trade is memory for arithmetic. OurDream publishes what every action costs and what a month contains; Nomi publishes what every action costs in credits and never converts it to money. If you want the relationship to be the product, Nomi is the better buy. If you want to know what you are agreeing to before you agree to it, it is the worse one.

- Short, medium and long-term memory, with a mind map holding roleplay structure
- Free accounts: 400 characters per message, two selfies a day, no voice at all
- Paid accounts: 800 characters per message, unlimited voice, ten characters and ten group chats
- Credits priced in units, never in money โ 1 per selfie, 6 per SD video, 10 per HD video
- Credits do not expire, and can only be bought with an active subscription running
- Payable on iOS, Android or web; web bills in USD, which Nomi says often beats app-store exchange rates
Pros
- Memory is the design centre rather than an upgrade sold on top
- Selfies and art respond to what is happening in the conversation, not a static gallery
- Group chats let several characters hold a scene together
- Nomi states that chats are anonymised and not shared with third-party sites
- Credit values are published in exact units, which most rivals never do
Cons
- No price published on the site, the wiki or anywhere else reachable without an account
- Voice is entirely absent from the free plan, so the headline feature cannot be sampled
- Credits cannot be bought until you are already subscribed
- No lifetime option, which Nomi says is deliberate given running costs
- Two selfies a day on free, shared with art requests
Bottom line
Buy Nomi if you want one relationship to deepen over months and you are willing to reach a payment screen to find out what that costs. Skip it if you need to compare prices before creating an account, because Nomi is the only app here that makes that impossible.
2. OurDream AI - Best Adult Custom Romantic Companion

OurDream AI is second because it is the entry where a romance can be seen and heard as well as read. You build the partner yourself โ appearance, manner, one of nineteen voices โ and the same character then sends images from inside the conversation, answers a voice call, and appears in short video, so an evening that begins as chat can become a picture of the person you were talking to and then a clip of her. Where Nomi above it makes the relationship persist, this one makes it visible, and for a reader whose idea of a dating chatbot includes adult media that is the more useful trade.
Those two halves multiply. A thousand coins is 200 images, which at the annual rate is 5 cents an image. It is 20 minutes of voice calls, at 50 cents a minute. It is 50 seconds of video, or ten five-second clips at a dollar each. Pay monthly instead and every one of those doubles. OurDream prints the same equivalence on its own upgrade screen โ "200 images, 20 minutes of voice calls, 10 videos" โ which is worth noticing, because it means the vendor calls a five-second clip a video. The ceiling is 60 seconds, and a 60-second clip costs 1,200 coins: more than an entire month's allowance, before you have sent a single image.
Free access is thin by design. Subscriber messages cost nothing, but free users pay one coin per message, and OurDream states that the only way to earn free coins is a referral. So the free tier meters the conversation itself rather than the extras, and how far a new account gets depends on a starting balance the site does not publish.
Two constraints matter before you commit. There is no native app โ OurDream tells you to install the site as a progressive web app instead. And only premium accounts can submit characters publicly, with review taking three to five days against 350 to 450 submissions a day. Against Candy AI below, the two products want the same thing and behave in opposite ways: Candy gives you a week of everything free and then meters you in a currency it never prices, while OurDream gives you almost nothing free and prices every action to the coin.
- Premium $9.99/month billed yearly at $119.88, or $19.99 billed monthly; Deluxe $29.99 and $59.99
- 1,000 DreamCoins a month, which do not expire
- Published rates: 5 coins an image, 50 coins a voice minute, 100 coins per five seconds of video
- Video ceiling 60 seconds at 1,200 coins, above a month's entire allowance
- Free users pay one coin per message; free coins come only from referrals
- No native app โ the site installs as a progressive web app
- Photograph uploads of real people are refused outright by policy
Pros
- The only app here where a month of use can be costed before paying
- Coin rates published for images, voice, video, editing and character creation
- Unlimited messages and audio messages once subscribed
- Lorebooks and branching keep long scenarios coherent
- Annual billing halves every derived unit rate
Cons
- Free users are metered on messages themselves, and the starting balance is not published
- A single 60-second clip costs more coins than a month includes
- No native app on either store
- Publishing a character requires premium and a three-to-five-day review
- Coins bought outside the monthly grant have their own prices to work out
Bottom line
Buy OurDream AI if you want images, calls and short clips and you want to know the rate before you start. Skip it if you expect to make long videos, because the 60-second ceiling costs more than a month of coins.
3. Candy AI - Best Polished Visual Companion

Candy AI is the most finished-feeling partner on this page: the character library is well art-directed, the companion looks the same from one picture to the next, and the interface asks almost nothing of you before you are in a conversation. What that produces is the shortest path here from opening an app to a romance that looks the way the marketing implied โ you pick or build someone, talk, and the pictures that come back match her rather than the prompt. It also runs the most generous evaluation on the page: seven days of full access to chat, voice, images and video, with a browse-without-signing-up step before that, so the writing can be judged at length before a plan is chosen.
What that week converts into is $13.99 a month, $8.99 a month on three months, or $6.30 a month on twelve โ a 55% discount for a year up front. Premium includes unlimited text messages, character creation, 18+ images and video, and 100 tokens a month. The tokens are the problem. Text is unlimited, so tokens exist to pay for images and video, and Candy does not publish what one costs. A hundred of an unpriced unit is not a quantity a buyer can reason about.
The comparison with OurDream AI one place above is the sharpest on this page, because the two products are close cousins. Both sell chat with images, voice and video around a custom character. OurDream is dearer at $9.99 against $6.30 on annual billing, and it tells you an image costs five coins out of a thousand. Candy is cheaper and tells you nothing about what a token buys. On a media-heavy month, the cheaper headline is the one you cannot forecast.
Candy is the better-made product of the two. The character builder covers ethnicity, age, hair, eyes, body type, personality, voice and interests; the interface is the most finished here; there is a live-action mode and a growing scripted series library. On privacy it publishes more than most, stating that conversations are encrypted, are not used to train public models, and can be deleted at any time. Two practical notes: the charge appears as EverAI on a bank statement, and crypto is accepted alongside cards.
- Seven-day free trial with full access to chat, voice, images and video
- $13.99 monthly, $8.99 a month on three months, $6.30 a month on twelve
- Unlimited text messages plus 100 tokens a month on every paid tier
- Token cost per image or video not published anywhere on the site
- Character builder covering ethnicity, age, hair, eyes, body type, personality and voice
- Charged as EverAI; cards and crypto both accepted; cancellation in settings
Pros
- Seven days of everything, free, with no plan selected
- $6.30 a month on annual billing is among the cheapest full-media rates here
- The most finished interface of the companion apps on this page
- Publishes explicit statements on encryption, training use and deletion
- Browse the character library before creating any account
Cons
- 100 tokens a month means nothing until you know what a token buys
- The trial ends into a subscription decision rather than a reduced free tier
- Memory is described as long term but never quantified
- The annual rate requires a year up front to reach
- Bank statements show EverAI rather than Candy AI
Bottom line
Buy Candy AI if you want the most polished companion here and you intend to use the free week properly before deciding. Skip it if images and video are the point, because the token allowance that pays for them is never priced.
4. Blush - Best Pure AI Dating Simulator

Blush is the only product on this page that is actually a dating simulator, and everything good and bad about it follows from that. You do not build a partner. You are given a cast โ Yu-Hun, Theo, Ayden, Steve, Jessica, Aisha and Klea among them, each with an age, a set of interests and a stated idea of what they are looking for โ and the product is the matching and the storyline that follows. Blush describes itself as helping you "learn and practice relationship skills", and its own metadata calls it the first AI-powered dating game.
That fixed cast is the feature, not a shortfall. Every other app here hands you a character sheet and asks you to fill it in, which means the personality you meet is the one you specified. Blush writes the characters and makes you work out how to talk to them, which is the only mechanic on this page that resembles dating rather than company. If the search that brought you here was for a dating simulator rather than a girlfriend app, this is the one that matches it.
It is fourth rather than higher because of what cannot be checked. Blush publishes no price. Not a tier, not a rate, not a currency โ the site carries no pricing surface at all, and every path on it returns the same landing page, so there is no FAQ, no plan grid and no terms page to read before installing. It is also mobile only: both download buttons lead to the same app-store listing and there is no web version, so the whole product is unavailable on a desktop. It carries no images, no voice and no video, which on this page is unusual enough to be worth stating plainly.
Against Romantic AI directly below, both publish nothing about cost. The difference is that Blush publishes exactly what the product is โ the cast, the mechanic, the purpose โ while Romantic AI publishes how it feels. Blush ranks above it because a clear product with a hidden price is a better position than a hidden product with a hidden price.
- The only app here with an actual matching-and-storyline dating mechanic
- Fixed written cast rather than a character builder
- Mobile only โ App Store and Google Play, with no web version
- No price, plan, rate or currency published anywhere on the site
- No images, voice or video; chat and story only
- Every route on blush.ai returns the landing page, so there is no FAQ or plan page to read
Pros
- The only genuine dating simulator on this page
- Written characters with their own backstories rather than blank sheets you fill in
- The mechanic rewards how you talk rather than how you configure
- Free to download on both mobile stores
- Positioned around practice and low stakes rather than adult content
Cons
- No price published anywhere on the site
- No web version at all โ mobile only
- No images, voice or video
- No FAQ, plan grid or terms surface reachable on the site
- Nothing published about memory or how far a storyline carries
Bottom line
Install Blush if you want the dating mechanic itself and are content to learn the price from the app-store listing. Skip it if you want a companion you design, a desktop version, or any media beyond text.
5. Romantic AI - Best AI Love Simulator

Romantic AI takes the love-simulator framing more literally than anything else here. The product is organised around girlfriends and boyfriends as browsable categories โ European, blonde, student, mature โ with each character given a written backstory and a photograph, and the pitch is emotional engagement rather than adult media or character engineering. For a reader whose search was "AI love simulator" rather than "AI girlfriend app", the framing lands.
What that framing buys you is a partner who arrives already written. Each character carries a backstory and a photograph before you have typed anything, so the first conversation starts from someone with a history rather than a blank persona you have to invent โ closer to meeting a person than to configuring one, which is precisely what the love-simulator idea promises. The cost is that almost nothing about the commercial side is knowable in advance: no price, no plan comparison and no free-tier terms are published anywhere a signed-out visitor can read, so what Romantic AI charges and what it permits are both visible only after you have an account.
The same site also runs an undress page and a spicy-chat page, which places it further toward adult media than the love-simulator language suggests. That is not a criticism of the product, but it is a mismatch between how it presents itself on the front page and what it sells one click in, and it is the kind of thing worth knowing before a card goes in.
It sits below Blush because Blush at least tells you what its product does, and above Kindroid only on dating-intent fit โ Romantic AI is built and worded for romance, where Kindroid is a companion builder that happens to support it. On every measurable criterion Kindroid is the stronger product, and the score table below says so.
- Girlfriend, boyfriend and anime companion framing with browsable character categories
- Written backstories per character rather than a builder-first approach
- No pricing, plan or subscription page anywhere on the marketing site
- The product itself sits on a separate subdomain behind a login
- Mobile apps offered alongside the browser version
- Also operates undress and spicy-chat sections under the same brand
Pros
- The clearest love-simulator positioning of any app on this page
- Characters arrive written rather than as blank builders
- Browsable categories make finding a type quick
- Apps available as well as the browser product
- Romance is the whole framing rather than one mode among many
Cons
- No price, plan or free-tier terms published anywhere reachable without an account
- Nothing published about memory, message limits or media allowances
- The marketing site and the product are on different domains
- Adult sections sit under the same brand as the romance framing
- Least verifiable product on this page for a reader comparing before signing up
Bottom line
Try Romantic AI if the love-simulator framing is what you want and you are willing to create an account to learn the terms. Skip it if you are comparing costs, because there is nothing to compare until you are inside.
6. Kindroid - Best Custom AI Partner Setup

Kindroid is the entry where you write the partner rather than pick her from a list. Backstory is free text you supply rather than a set of sliders, so a partner can arrive with a home town, an ex she is still annoyed about and a way of speaking that follows from both โ and because the memory is stated in characters rather than adjectives, that history is held rather than politely forgotten. It sits sixth on dating-intent fit, not on capability: this is a companion builder that supports romance rather than a product about dating, and a reader who wants the dating structure itself will prefer Blush above it.
The numbers behind that are unusually concrete: 500,000 characters of total conversation context on the standard plan, 18,000 of short-term context, 480,000 of cascaded memory, and three long-term memories recalled at a time. In practice that is a partner who can carry a relationship over months without you re-establishing who she is, and it is the reason an authored character here holds together where an authored character elsewhere drifts. Prices are equally plain, and split by where you buy: $13.99 a month, $37.99 a quarter or $139.99 a year on the web, against $15.99, $42.99 and $159.99 through the app stores, with Kindroid stating outright that the web is cheaper because the processing fees are lower.
The free plan is a demonstration of the interface rather than the product. It runs on Lite, a distilled version of the flagship model; it allows one selfie every two hours to a maximum of two; it grants 5,000 audio characters for the lifetime of the account, about five minutes; and it caps you at two characters with no cascaded memory. There is a three-day full trial, but it requires a payment method on file, auto-converts if you do not cancel, and on the web additionally requires a verified phone number.
Two things deserve attention before subscribing. The larger memory tiers, Ultra at $24.99 a month on top of the base plan and MAX at $59.99 on top of that, cannot be bought on day one โ Kindroid gates them behind what it calls significant interaction history. And its refund language is the firmest here: all sales final, refunds at discretion only, and an explicit statement that users who dispute charges may be permanently banned. Against Nomi at the top of the page, the two share an ambition and split on conduct: Nomi will not show you a price, Kindroid shows you every price and then tells you what happens if you charge back.
- 500,000 characters of total context, 18,000 short term, 480,000 cascaded
- Web $13.99/month, $37.99/quarter, $139.99/year; app stores $15.99, $42.99, $159.99
- Three-day trial requiring a card, and a verified phone number on web
- Free plan: Lite model, one selfie per two hours to a maximum of two, 5,000 lifetime audio characters, two characters
- Paid plan: 1 million audio credits a month, ten characters, twenty groups, video calls and custom voices
- Ultra and MAX memory add-ons unlock only after sustained use
- All sales final; charge disputes may result in a permanent ban
Pros
- Publishes memory as an exact character count, which nothing else here does
- Web and app-store prices shown side by side, with the difference explained
- A million audio credits a month covers heavy voice and video-call use
- Backstory, voice, avatars, groups and inpainting all included in the base plan
- Update log and help centre are kept current and specific
Cons
- Free plan runs a distilled model, so it does not demonstrate the paid one
- Three-day trial needs a card and, on web, a verified phone number
- Largest memory tiers cannot be purchased until you have used the app enough
- Refund policy is all-sales-final with a stated ban for chargebacks
- Sixth place understates it against the score table โ it is a companion app, not a dating sim
Bottom line
Buy Kindroid if you want to know exactly what you are getting and will spend an evening on setup. Skip it if you want a dating mechanic, or if a card-and-phone trial gate is a step too far before you have seen the flagship model.
7. Replika - Best Mainstream Relationship Companion

Replika is the oldest and most mainstream product here, and the one that behaves most like a steady, undramatic partner. Voice messaging, calls that keep running while you use other apps, roleplay during voice and augmented-reality calls, premium voices with accents and full avatar customisation all sit around a companion designed to be checked in on daily rather than performed with โ so what you get is someone to phone on the way home, not a scene to direct. For a reader who wants companionship in the ordinary sense, that restraint is the feature.
Its paid feature list is also the clearest description of its free tier anywhere on this page, because of what it removes. Replika Pro is documented as unlocking "unblurred messages and photos", so parts of the unpaid product are deliberately obscured rather than merely smaller โ and the romantic relationship setting itself sits behind Pro too. On the app most readers reach first when they search for a companion, being in a relationship is the upgrade.
Memory sits a further tier up, and the structure matters. Replika Ultra adds the ability to save memories and to see which ones the model used in a conversation โ the only memory transparency of its kind on this page โ and Replika states that Ultra is sold as an annual plan. There is no monthly route to it. On the most mainstream companion app in the category, the memory controls cannot be bought by the month at all. Lifetime subscribers get Ultra included.
Replika publishes no price on the web. Its own help centre says the cost is shown on the subscription screens in the app and in the relevant store, which puts it in the same position as Nomi at the top of the page. The difference, and the reason it ranks below the products above it, is that Nomi hides only the price while Replika also blurs the messages. Against Kupid AI directly below, Replika is the safer, calmer product and Kupid is the one that will at least tell you what a week of photos costs.
- No price published on the web; the help centre directs you to the app and the store
- Pro unlocks unblurred messages and photos, which describes what free withholds
- Romantic Partner is a paid relationship setting rather than a free option
- Pro covers voice messaging, background calls, AR-call roleplay and premium accented voices
- Ultra adds saved memories and visibility of which memories were used
- Ultra is sold annually only; Lifetime subscribers receive it automatically
Pros
- The most established companion brand in the category, with the longest history
- Pro covers voice, calls, AR roleplay and avatar customisation in one tier
- Ultra is the only tier anywhere here that shows which memories a reply used
- Positioning is calm and supportive rather than adult-first
- Available on every platform with a single account
Cons
- Free messages and photos are blurred until you pay
- The romantic relationship setting is itself behind the paywall
- Memory controls sit two tiers up, on an annual-only plan
- No price published anywhere on the web
- Not built for uncensored or explicit roleplay
Bottom line
Buy Replika if you want a mainstream, safety-first companion and the romantic setting is worth a subscription to you. Skip it if you want to read your own messages without paying, or want memory controls on a monthly plan.
8. Kupid AI - Best Detailed Companion Builder

Kupid AI gives you the most granular hand in deciding who your partner is, and then delivers her in the romantic register rather than the explicit one โ photos, short video and spoken replies allocated separately so an evening of listening to her does not quietly consume the pictures. What that produces is a companion you specified in detail and can then see and hear at a predictable weekly rate, which suits a relationship conducted in sessions rather than continuously. The limitation is the other half of the same grid: Pro remembers your last 30 messages and Ultra your last 100, the shortest published memory on this page, against a free CrushOn AI account further down that keeps 200 historical messages per character for nothing.
The media allowances are equally exact and equally tight. Pro gives 25 photos a week, 8 videos and 12 minutes of voice; Ultra gives 75, 25 and 35. Those are hard weekly caps rather than a credit pool, which at least makes the rate calculable: Ultra's 75 photos a week is 3,900 a year, and at $299 a year that is about 7.7 cents a photo. Pro works out at roughly 13.8 cents. On videos the same arithmetic gives about 23 cents on Ultra and 43 cents on Pro.
The pricing presentation is the reason this sits eighth. The subscription page carries a banner reading "Easter Discount 75% Off" above a countdown timer showing roughly half an hour remaining. Easter 2026 fell in April. A countdown that has been expiring for three months is not a deadline, and the struck-through figures it discounts from โ $12.99 a week for Pro, $24.99 for Ultra โ are anchors rather than prices anyone pays. The figures that matter are the ones underneath: $3.44 a week for Pro, $5.75 for Ultra, and a payment line reading "billed as one payment of $299 a year". That $299 is the largest single annual commitment on this page.
The free tier is 15 messages and one custom character. That is enough to see the interface and not enough to judge anything else. Against Replika above, Kupid at least publishes its numbers; the trouble is that the numbers are small and the discount framing around them cannot be taken at face value.
- Pro remembers the last 30 messages; Ultra remembers the last 100
- Pro: 25 photos, 8 videos and 12 voice minutes a week; Ultra: 75, 25 and 35
- $3.44 a week for Pro and $5.75 for Ultra, the latter billed as $299 once a year
- Struck-through anchors of $12.99 and $24.99 a week sit above those figures
- An "Easter Discount" countdown was still running three months after Easter
- Free tier: 15 messages and one custom character
- Card and crypto payments both accepted
Pros
- Weekly allowances are published exactly, so a per-photo rate can be derived
- Realistic and anime styles both supported in the builder
- Photos, videos and voice all included rather than sold as add-ons
- Response speed and queue priority are stated per tier
- Ultra allows eight custom characters
Cons
- Memory is 30 messages on Pro and 100 on Ultra, the shortest published here
- A months-expired countdown sits over the whole price list
- Free tier ends after 15 messages
- $299 a year for Ultra is the largest single annual payment on this page
- Weekly caps reset weekly, so an unused allowance is simply lost
Bottom line
Buy Kupid AI if fixed weekly photo and video allowances suit how you use a companion and you can ignore the discount theatre. Skip it if you want the character to remember more than the last hundred messages.
9. Character.AI - Best Free SFW Dating Roleplay

Character.AI is the largest route into character romance, and the writing on a well-built character is the best free prose on this page. The library is enormous and community-authored, so a romance premise you had in mind usually already exists in it, written and refined by people who wanted the same thing โ you find a partner rather than specify one, and the first conversation is with someone who has already been made to work. For a reader testing whether they enjoy this at all, that is the honest starting point, and it costs nothing indefinitely.
What the free plan withholds is stated by what the upgrade sells: ad-free chats and the removal of slow mode, so the unpaid product is the basic chat models with advertising and a throttle on reply speed when the service is busy. The subscription is $9.99 a month or $94.99 a year, which the page marks as 20% off a $119.88 list and works out at $7.92 a month. That buys better memory, the latest models, unlimited voice calls, no slow mode, more muted words, voice memos, go-ons and swipes, chat customisation, and a bonus on every Charms pack โ Charms being a second currency layered on top of the subscription. The memory improvement is described only as "better", with no size attached, which is a step behind SpicyChat AI and CrushOn AI below, both of which publish context sizes in thousands of tokens.
Character.AI ranks ninth for a reason that has nothing to do with quality: it is filtered, and it is not built for adult content. For a reader who wants a fictional romance, a first date scene or a slow-burn story with no explicit material, it is the best free option on this page by a distance โ an enormous community library, character creation at no cost, and voice calls that make a scene feel like a scene. For a reader who wants the adult end of dating chat, it is the wrong product entirely, and the apps ranked below it exist precisely to serve that.
The score table further down places it fifth rather than ninth, which is the honest reading of a free, transparent, enormous platform. Its ranking here reflects fit with the dating intent this page is about, not the product.
- c.ai+ at $9.99 a month or $94.99 a year, a 20% discount off $119.88
- Free tier carries advertising and a slow mode; both are removed by the subscription
- Free tier is limited to the basic chat models
- Subscription adds unlimited voice calls and access to the newest models
- Charms packs are a separate currency, with a subscriber bonus on each
- Memory improvement is stated as "better" with no size published
- Not built for explicit content, and filtered accordingly
Pros
- The largest free character library available without paying anything
- Both monthly and annual prices published plainly, with the discount shown
- Character creation is free and unlimited
- Voice and calls suit date-style scenes well
- Available on web, iOS and Android from one account
Cons
- The free tier is ad-supported, the only one here that is
- Slow mode throttles free replies at busy times
- No adult content, which rules out much of this category's intent
- Memory is never quantified at any tier
- Charms are a second currency on top of the subscription
Bottom line
Use Character.AI if you want fictional romance for free and explicit content is not the point. Skip it if it is, because no plan on this platform unlocks that.
10. SpicyChat AI - Best Adult Roleplay Community

SpicyChat AI is the community option: the characters are written by other people who wanted the same scenario, the adult ones are not filtered, and user personas let you fix who you are in the date as well as who she is. That last control is what makes it a dating product rather than a chat product โ the same character can be met as a stranger, a colleague or an ex, and each of those runs as its own saved storyline. And all of it is free indefinitely: no payment, no trial clock, no card, with unlimited messages and character creation included. Every other free plan on this page is a sample of something; this one is the product with fewer settings.
What the ladder sells is memory, and SpicyChat is one of only three apps here that states memory as a number rather than an adjective. Get a Taste at $5 a month removes ads, adds a memory manager where you write in facts the character should hold, and raises personas to ten. True Supporter at $14.95 moves to 8K of context, adds semantic memory that writes its own entries, raises the reply cap from 180 tokens to 300, and turns on in-chat images. I'm All In at $24.95 reaches 16K of context, adds text-to-speech, priority generation, generation settings you can tune yourself, and the SpicyXL model. Annual billing takes 17% off.
Two details matter more than the headline tiers. The reply-length cap is published as a token count โ 180 by default, 300 on True Supporter โ which is the most concrete statement anywhere on this page about how long a message will be, and short replies are the most common complaint in this category. And in-chat images work on public characters at True Supporter but only reach your own private characters at the top tier, which is exactly the case where most people want them.
It ranks tenth on dating fit, not on merit. SpicyChat is a roleplay community: scenes, personas, thousands of user-made characters, and no relationship structure of its own. Against CrushOn AI directly below, the two are close, and the free tiers decide it โ SpicyChat keeps your chats indefinitely and CrushOn deletes free chat history after seven days of inactivity.
- Free tier: unlimited messages, the full library, adult content, character creation, three personas
- Get a Taste $5, True Supporter $14.95, I'm All In $24.95 a month; 17% off annually
- Context ladder published as 4K, 8K and 16K
- Reply cap 180 tokens by default, 300 on True Supporter
- In-chat images from True Supporter; on your own private characters only at the top tier
- Text-to-speech, priority queue and tunable generation settings at $24.95
- Personas scale 3, 10, 50, 100 across the four tiers
Pros
- The strongest genuinely free tier on this page, with no clock on it
- Memory published as context sizes rather than adjectives
- Reply length published as a token count, which nothing else here does
- Four tiers give a real $5 step rather than one paywall
- Manual memory manager lets you pin what matters
Cons
- No relationship structure โ it is a library, not a companion
- In-chat images on your own characters need the $24.95 tier
- No voice calls and no video at any price
- 16K of context is small next to the companion apps' published figures
- Community character quality varies enormously
Bottom line
Use SpicyChat AI if you want adult roleplay without paying, and upgrade only when short replies start to bother you. Skip it if you want one continuing partner rather than a library of scenes.
11. CrushOn AI - Best Uncensored Character Dating Roleplay

CrushOn AI is the uncensored character-library option, and the one that exposes the controls a long romance actually runs on: context size, historical messages held per character, how many chats you can keep going at once, which characters stay pinned, and how many custom voices you own. Raising those is what turns a series of disconnected exchanges into a relationship that reads continuously โ and even the free account keeps 200 historical messages per character, more than several paid tiers elsewhere on this page. It is the entry for a reader who already knows how they want a partner configured rather than one deciding whether they want one.
Six tiers are live โ Standard at $4.90 a month, Premium at $7.90, Luxe at $25, Elite at $66.70 and Imperial at $150, all on annual billing, above a free plan, with a seventh marked retired. The catch is what none of them includes. Every plan meters premium models in message credits: 100 a month free, 2,000 on Standard, 6,000 on Premium, 20,000 on Luxe. Getting off the meter needs the Pro Chat Package at $24.99 a month, which is not a tier but an add-on โ and CrushOn states that most Pro models require a membership as well. So unmetered access to the good models starts at Premium plus the package: $7.90 and $24.99, or $32.89 a month at annual rates. The page advertises bundles at $394.88 and $599.98 a year that make the same point in one payment.
The free tier is generous on paper and carries a clause worth reading twice. It includes 100 message credits a month, unlimited access to the free models, 8K of memory, 200 historical messages per character and a custom voice slot. It also states that chat history is deleted after seven days of inactivity. On a page about relationships that continue, a free plan that forgets you for taking a week off is a meaningful limitation rather than a footnote.
Against SpicyChat AI above, CrushOn has the better memory disclosure โ 8K free rising to 24K at Elite, with message counts attached โ and the worse free tier, because of that seven-day rule. Against Janitor AI below, CrushOn sells you the model and Janitor makes you bring one.
- Free: 100 message credits a month, 8K memory, 200 historical messages, 225-character replies
- Free chat history is deleted after seven days of inactivity
- Standard $4.90, Premium $7.90, Luxe $25, Elite $66.70, Imperial $150 a month on annual billing
- Deluxe is marked retired on the current plan grid
- Memory runs 8K free, 16K from Standard, 24K at Elite and above
- Unmetered premium models need a $24.99 Pro Chat Package on top of a membership
- Custom voice slots scale from one on free to thirty on Imperial
Pros
- The most detailed memory disclosure of the character platforms here
- A real $4.90 entry tier rather than a single expensive step
- Voice messages and custom voices are available even on the free plan
- Group chats, personas and profile cards all scale with the tier
- Reply length rises with the tier and becomes adjustable at Luxe
Cons
- Free chat history is deleted after seven days of inactivity
- Unlimited premium-model access is an add-on, not a tier
- The real cost of unmetered chat is about $32.89 a month, not $7.90
- Seven tiers, one of them retired, make comparison harder than it should be
- No images in chat and no video at any tier
Bottom line
Use CrushOn AI if you want fine control over memory and will pay the package price to escape the credit meter. Skip it if you chat in bursts, because the free plan erases a conversation after a week away.
12. Janitor AI - Best Advanced DIY Dating Roleplay

Janitor AI is free at the platform and priced at the model, and understanding that sentence is most of understanding the product. Janitor is the front end: the library, the character editor, the chat interface. The model behind it can be JanitorLLM, which Janitor describes as free, built in and ready out of the box, or any external model you attach through a proxy. Nothing about the platform costs money. What the good conversations cost depends on which model you plug in, and that price belongs to somebody else.
The library is the largest here by an order of magnitude โ 2,399,220 characters against a stated 15 million users. More useful than the count is a piece of transparency no other platform on this page offers: every character card publishes its own token size on the tile, running from about 140 tokens to 21,000. That number tells you how much of a model's context the character definition will consume before you have said anything, which is the single best predictor of whether a character will hold together in a long scene.
It ranks twelfth because it is text only and because the setup is real work. No images, no voice, no calls, no video. Attaching an external model means creating an account somewhere else, generating an API key, finding a proxy URL and pasting it in. Some readers enjoy that and get better romance writing out of it than any subscription on this page will buy. Most do not want a second account to start a first date.
Against CrushOn AI above, the difference is who carries the model bill. CrushOn sells you metered access to models it hosts. Janitor gives the interface away and leaves the model to you, which is why it is the cheapest entry on the cost table below and the hardest to forecast.
- Free to use, with JanitorLLM built in and no card required
- 2,399,220 characters in the library, and a stated 15 million users
- Every character card publishes its token size, from about 140 to 21,000
- External models attach through a proxy using your own API key
- The real running cost is whatever the attached provider charges, which Janitor does not set
- Text only โ no images, voice, calls or video at any level
- An account is required for search, favourites and following
Pros
- Genuinely free at the platform layer with a working built-in model
- The largest character library on this page by a wide margin
- Token size published on every card before you open it
- Attaching a stronger external model can beat any hosted tier here
- No subscription to cancel and no credit meter to watch
Cons
- Text only, with no media of any kind
- The real cost sits with an external provider Janitor does not price
- Proxy setup needs a second account and an API key
- Character quality across two million entries varies enormously
- No relationship structure, memory system or dating mechanic of its own
Bottom line
Use Janitor AI if you want maximum control and do not mind assembling it. Skip it if you want to open an app and start talking, because the good version of this product takes an evening to put together.
13. GPTGirlfriend - Best Large NSFW Character Library

GPTGirlfriend is the large adult character library of this group: the partner you date already exists, written and tagged by a community, with the busiest entries carrying chat counts that show which ones actually hold up in conversation. Nothing is filtered, images and voice messages sit alongside the chat, and the practical effect is that a specific romantic premise is usually a search rather than a construction job. One caution before you pay: a separate product trades under a near-anagram of the same name, so confirm you are on the listing linked here rather than the other one.
GPTGirlfriend publishes more than its ranking suggests, and it does so without an account. Its subscription page is public and lists a 365-day VIP plan as a one-time payment of $149.99, non-recurring, marked 80% off and advertised at $12.32 a month. That last figure comes from dividing by thirty-day months; divided by twelve the rate is $12.50. Week, month and quarter options are offered alongside it.
The plan itself contains one number nothing else on this page publishes: 60.8 hours of premium voice calls. At $149.99 for the year that is $2.47 an hour of voice, or about 4 cents a minute โ an order of magnitude below OurDream AI's 50 cents a minute, and the only per-hour call rate derivable anywhere in this comparison. The rest of the plan is unlimited text on all models, 200% response length, ten or more VIP chat models, ElevenLabs speech capped at 3,000 chats a month, unlimited character images and unlimited SD15 and SDXL images โ with ZImage, Flux2 and video generation named as exclusions rather than left ambiguous.
It ranks last on dating fit rather than on disclosure. There is no relationship structure, no memory figure at any tier, and searching the library requires an account even though browsing does not. The score table places it tenth rather than thirteenth for exactly that reason. Against Janitor AI immediately above, both are libraries rather than companions; Janitor is free and publishes character sizes, while GPTGirlfriend charges a year up front and publishes a voice allowance instead. Two practical notes: payment is by crypto, and the vendor states that no adult transaction appears on bank statements.
- Operates at gptgirlfriend.org; GirlfriendGPT at gptgirlfriend.online is a different product
- 365-day VIP at a one-time $149.99, non-recurring, advertised as $12.32 a month
- Premium voice calls capped at 60.8 hours a year, which works out at $2.47 an hour
- ElevenLabs speech capped at 3,000 chats a month; 200% response length
- Unlimited SD15 and SDXL images, with ZImage, Flux2 and video named as exclusions
- Nothing published about memory at any tier
- Browsing is open; searching the library requires an account
- Paid in crypto, with no adult transaction shown on bank statements
Pros
- Publishes its annual price openly, with no account needed to read it
- 60.8 hours of voice is the only per-hour call rate derivable on this page
- Names its image-model exclusions rather than leaving them vague
- A large adult character library with content ratings applied per character
- Crypto payment and discreet billing both stated up front
Cons
- Easily confused with GirlfriendGPT, a different product on a near-identical domain
- Nothing published about memory at any tier
- Searching the library requires an account
- $149.99 up front for a year, with no monthly figure verified
- The 80% discount has no dated end, so the anchor price means little
Bottom line
Buy GPTGirlfriend if voice is the point โ 60.8 hours a year at $2.47 an hour is the cheapest published voice on this page. Skip it if you want a relationship that accumulates, because nothing here is published about memory, and check the domain before you pay.
AI Dating Chatbot Quality and Reliability Compared
None of these vendors publishes a success rate, a reply-quality score or a repetition figure, and none of the numbers below is one. What they do publish, and what separates them, is the machinery a good conversation runs on: how much of the exchange the model can still see, how much of the character you control, what arrives alongside the text, and where the meter stops you. The table grades how well the available evidence supports each row.

| Kupid AI | Subscriptions page and plan comparison grid | Last 30 messages on Pro, last 100 on Ultra | Appearance and personality builder, realistic and anime | Photos, videos and voice, all capped by the week | 15 messages free; weekly media caps thereafter | Memory window is short enough to lose a long scene | High โ every allowance is a printed number |
| Character.AI | Subscribe page comparison and the c.ai+ announcement | "Better memory" on c.ai+, with no size attached | Community library plus free character creation | Voice and calls; no images in chat | Free tier throttled by slow mode and carries ads | Filtered โ adult scenes are refused at every tier | High on price, low on memory |
| SpicyChat AI | Subscribe page and the premium-features documentation | Published as context: 4K, 8K and 16K across the ladder | Character creation, personas, memory manager, lorebook | In-chat images from the middle tier, text to speech at the top | Unlimited messages on every tier including free | Replies cap at 180 tokens until the $14.95 tier | High โ memory and reply length both published |
| CrushOn AI | Pricing grid across all seven tiers | 8K free, 16K from Standard, 24K at Elite, with message counts | Custom and community characters, personas, group chat | Voice messages and custom voice slots; no images in chat | 100 message credits a month free, 125,000 at the top tier | Free chat history is deleted after seven days of inactivity | High on tiers, medium on what a credit actually buys |
| Janitor AI | Library, character cards and the official help centre | Entirely determined by the model you attach | Full character editing, with token size shown per card | None; text only | None at the platform; whatever your model provider imposes | Quality swings with the model, so results are not comparable | Medium โ the platform is open, the model is your variable |
| GPTGirlfriend | Public subscription page, library and character pages | Nothing published at any level | Character creation plus an image generator | Unlimited SD15 and SDXL images, 60.8 hours of voice a year | 3,000 ElevenLabs chats a month; video generation excluded outright | Search is gated behind an account, and a rival brand sits on a near-identical domain | High on the plan, none on memory |
The clearest split on this page is between apps that state memory as a number and apps that state it as an adjective. Kindroid publishes 500,000 characters of context. CrushOn AI publishes 8K free rising to 24K. SpicyChat AI publishes 4K to 16K. Kupid AI publishes 30 messages on Pro and 100 on Ultra โ and that last one is the most useful disclosure on the list, because it is the only figure small enough to tell you the product will not do what the category promises. Nomi, Candy AI, Replika, Character.AI, Blush, Romantic AI and GPTGirlfriend all describe memory in words and leave the size to you.
Recovery from a bad conversation splits the same way. On SpicyChat AI and CrushOn AI you can rewrite the memory directly โ a memory manager, pinned characters, resummarising on demand โ so a scene that drifts can be pulled back. Kindroid lets you extend the backstory. Replika Ultra shows which memories a reply drew on, which is the only place on this page you can diagnose why a character said something odd. On Blush, Romantic AI and GPTGirlfriend there is no published recovery mechanism at all, so a conversation that goes wrong is a conversation you start again.
Media changes the purchase more than it looks like it should. Text-only platforms are cheap and they stay cheap: Janitor AI costs nothing and SpicyChat AI's free tier is unlimited. The moment images, voice and video enter, the meter starts, and the meter is where the real price hides. OurDream AI meters in coins it prices. Kupid AI meters in weekly counts it prices. Candy AI meters in tokens it does not price. That last one is the pattern to watch for, because it makes a cheap headline rate impossible to convert into a monthly bill.
A cheap headline can be the worse buy for a second reason. CrushOn AI's Premium tier is $7.90 a month, which reads as the second-cheapest paid plan here โ until you find that unmetered access to its better models needs a $24.99 package on top, taking the real figure to $32.89. Kupid AI's $3.44 a week looks like the smallest number on the page and bills as $178.88 a year for a companion that remembers thirty messages. The rate that matters is the one attached to the thing you came for.
What the evidence actually supports
On published evidence, Kindroid has the strongest machinery, OurDream AI has the most forecastable running cost, and Candy AI has the only free offer long enough to judge writing quality. Nomi keeps first place on how the relationship is built rather than on anything it discloses. Where an app publishes nothing โ Blush, Romantic AI, Replika โ that silence is a fact about the purchase, not a gap in the research.

Pricing And Free-Access Comparison
Two figures matter in this category and they are not the same. The first is the monthly rate for the tier that unlocks what you came for. The second is what that rate buys once the meter is applied โ and eight of the thirteen apps here meter something. Where a unit rate can be derived it is shown below. Where it cannot, the reason is stated, because an underivable rate is a purchasing disadvantage rather than a neutral omission.

The headline rate is not the bill
Four of these thirteen apps publish no price at all, and three of the nine that do meter the thing you are paying for in a unit they never convert to money. Only OurDream AI, Kupid AI, Kindroid and GPTGirlfriend publish enough for real use to be worked out in advance. CrushOn AI's $7.90 tier becomes $32.89 once the package that removes the credit meter is added.

How We Ranked These Chatbots
Six criteria, weighted, applied to all thirteen apps. The same six are the columns of the score table two sections down, in the same order, so any total on it can be recomputed from the weights.
- Dating-chat intent fit โ 25%: whether the product is built for simulated romance rather than supporting it as one mode among many. A dating mechanic or explicit girlfriend and boyfriend framing scores highest; a general roleplay library scores lowest.
- Relationship continuity and memory โ 25%: how much of the relationship survives between sessions, and how much of that is published rather than asserted. A stated context size beats the word "better".
- Simulator depth and character control โ 15%: what you can shape โ backstory, personality, appearance, personas, lorebooks, group scenes โ and whether a scene that drifts can be pulled back.
- Media inside the romance loop โ 15%: images, voice, calls and video, scored on whether they respond to the conversation rather than sitting in a separate generator.
- Pricing transparency โ 10%: whether a reader can work out the monthly cost, and the unit cost of what they came for, before creating an account.
- Free-tier practicality โ 10%: what a new account can genuinely finish before paying, measured against the classification vocabulary above.
How We Tested These AI Dating Chatbots
Every figure on this page was read off the vendor's own current pages. That means plan grids and subscription screens, help centres and documentation sites, free-plan terms, credit and coin guides, feature comparison tables, app-store listings, and โ where a vendor runs one โ its own wiki. Nomi's credit values come from Nomipedia. OurDream AI's coin rates come from its help centre. Kindroid's context sizes come from its subscription documentation. SpicyChat AI's context ladder comes from its own premium-features guide. Where two vendor sources disagreed, the live plan page won and the conflict was recorded.
Where a product publishes nothing, the absence was checked rather than assumed. Blush and Romantic AI were both read in full before concluding that neither publishes a price a signed-out visitor can reach, and every brand here was confirmed live and actively sold before anything was written about it โ nothing on this page is defunct.
A usable result in this category is a conversation where the character stays in character across a session, remembers what was established earlier, does not loop the same reply back at you, and does not refuse the content the plan was sold on. Three of those four are functions of context size and memory design, which is why memory carries a quarter of the weight and why a published context figure counts for more here than a marketing adjective.
The honest limitation, stated once: no paid subscriptions were purchased, so no reply quality, repetition rate or refusal rate on this page is a measurement. Nobody publishes those figures, and inventing them would be worse than not having them. What the comparison does instead is grade how far each vendor's own disclosure supports the conclusion drawn from it, which is what the confidence column is for.

Score order and running order agree at the top and diverge below it. Both are shown here rather than tuning the weights until they agree. Kindroid, Character.AI, SpicyChat AI and GPTGirlfriend all score above their ranked position because they publish more and, in three of the four cases, charge less; Blush and Romantic AI score below theirs because almost nothing about them can be checked. The running order weighs fit with dating intent more heavily than the score model does โ read the ranking if you want the closest match to a simulated relationship, and the scores if disclosure and value decide it for you.
Where These Apps Fail
Every pattern below is labelled with the evidence behind it. Vendor-admitted means the company states it on its own pages. Observable means it can be seen without an account. Editorial inference means it follows from what is published rather than being stated outright.
- Memory that ends mid-relationship (vendor-admitted). Kupid AI publishes a 30-message window on Pro and 100 on Ultra. A long evening exceeds the first and a long weekend exceeds the second, after which the character is working from the description rather than from anything you said.
- Free history that expires (vendor-admitted). CrushOn AI deletes free chat history after seven days of inactivity. Nothing warns you at day six.
- Deliberately degraded free output (vendor-admitted). Replika sells unblurred messages and photos as a Pro feature, so free replies arrive obscured. Kindroid's free plan runs a distilled model, so what you sample is not what you would buy.
- Currencies with no exchange rate (observable). Candy AI includes 100 tokens a month and never says what a token buys. Nomi publishes credit values in units and never in money. Character.AI adds Charms as a second currency on top of a subscription.
- Unlimited that is not a tier (vendor-admitted). CrushOn AI's route off the credit meter is a $24.99 package that also requires a membership, so the advertised $7.90 becomes $32.89.
- Countdowns that do not count down (observable). Kupid AI's subscription page runs an "Easter Discount" banner with a sub-hour timer months after Easter. A discount that never expires is a price, and the struck-through figure above it is not one.
- Prices that require an account (observable). Nomi, Replika, Blush and Romantic AI publish no rate a reader can reach. Replika's help centre says so explicitly; the other three simply have no such page.
- Near-identical rival domains (observable). GPTGirlfriend runs on gptgirlfriend.org and a different product, GirlfriendGPT, runs on gptgirlfriend.online. Comparisons routinely name one and link the other.
- Ceilings priced above the allowance (editorial inference). OurDream AI caps video at 60 seconds and charges 1,200 coins for it, against a monthly grant of 1,000. The longest clip the product makes cannot be made in the month you pay for.
- Upgrades you cannot buy (vendor-admitted). Kindroid gates its Ultra and MAX memory tiers behind sustained use, so the largest context on this page is unavailable on the day you decide you want it.
- Trials that need a card (vendor-admitted). Kindroid's three-day trial requires a payment method, auto-converts if not cancelled, and on web also requires a verified phone number.
- Refusals inside the paid product (vendor-admitted). Character.AI filters adult content at every tier including c.ai+. OurDream AI runs an automatic moderation filter and refuses uploads of real people outright.
- Ads inside the free product (vendor-admitted). Character.AI sells ad-free chats as an upgrade, which makes its free tier the only ad-supported one here.
- Costs that belong to somebody else (editorial inference). Janitor AI is free and its best results come from an external model with its own billing, so the platform's price and the product's price are different numbers.
- Chargeback policy as a term of sale (vendor-admitted). Kindroid states that all sales are final and that users who dispute charges may be permanently banned.
Privacy And Safety Considerations
These conversations are more personal than most things people type into a browser, and what happens to them afterwards is published unevenly. The table uses four labels only. Explicitly disclosed means the vendor states it in its own words. Ambiguous means something is said but not clearly. Not found in published policy means the question is not answered on any reachable page. Requires account access to verify means the answer exists behind a login. An absent clause is not evidence of misuse โ it is an absence of commitment, which is a different thing and still worth knowing.

What an absent clause means
Four of these apps say plainly what happens to a conversation. The rest either say nothing or say it behind a login. Silence is not evidence of misuse and it is not evidence of care either โ it is simply an absence of any commitment you could hold them to. Where privacy is the deciding factor, choose from the apps that wrote it down.

How To Choose An AI Dating Chatbot
Start with the shape of the thing you want, because the three shapes on this page are not substitutes for each other and no amount of budget converts one into another.
- Want the dating mechanic itself โ matches, a written cast, a storyline that goes somewhere โ and there is exactly one option here, on mobile, at an unpublished price.
- Want one partner who accumulates and the deciding number is memory. Ask what the context size is before anything else; three apps answer in figures and the rest answer in adjectives.
- Want images, calls or video in the conversation and the deciding number is the unit rate, not the subscription. A cheap plan metered in an unpriced currency costs more than a dearer one metered in a priced one.
- Want variety over continuity and the character platforms win outright on price. Their free tiers are real, and the paid ladders buy context rather than access.
- Want to compare before committing and four of these thirteen remove themselves from consideration by publishing no rate at all.
Then decide how you will test it. A seven-day full-access pass tells you more about writing quality than any comparison table, which is why Candy AI's trial is worth using even if you expect to buy something else. Fifteen free messages tell you about the interface and nothing about the relationship. To build the character first and pick the product second, start with create your own AI girlfriend.
AI Dating Chatbot vs AI Dating Simulator vs AI Girlfriend App
Three names, three products, and search results that mix all of them together. An AI dating chatbot simulates the relationship, where an AI dating assistant helps you message real people; this page is about the first kind. Two shapes sit under that name. A dating simulator gives you a cast, a matching step and storylines that go somewhere, and Blush is the only app here that works that way. A romantic companion gives you one character you shape and keep, and the value comes from how much of the relationship survives between sessions. Character platforms make a third group: built for roleplay of every kind, cheaper and more open, and they hand you the setup work the companion apps do for you.

Most disappointment in this category comes from buying across those lines: expecting a storyline from a companion app, or expecting a companion app to remember a scene when what you bought was a library with 4K of context. If voice presence is the priority, compare AI girlfriend call apps. If scenario depth is, use AI fantasy girlfriend apps.
FAQ
What is the best AI dating chatbot?
Nomi, for a relationship that carries across months โ its memory runs in three named layers and the selfies, group chats and voice calls are built on top of them. The caveat is that Nomi is the only app on this page with no price on its site or its wiki. If that matters more than the memory, OurDream AI is second and publishes the cost of every single action.
What is the difference between an AI dating chatbot and an AI dating assistant?
An AI dating chatbot gives you a fictional partner to talk to. An AI dating assistant writes openers and profile copy for conversations with real people. They share a keyword and nothing else โ no product on this page will help you message someone on a real dating app, and no dating assistant will remember your birthday.
Is Blush the best AI dating simulator?
It is the only one. Every other app here is a companion product or a character library; Blush is the single entry with a written cast, a matching step and storylines you steer. It is also mobile-only โ both download buttons lead to the same app-store listing and there is no web version at all โ and it publishes no price, so the first figure you see arrives in the store listing.
Which AI dating chatbot has the best memory?
Kindroid, on published evidence: 500,000 characters of total conversation context, 18,000 of short-term context and 480,000 of cascaded memory, with Ultra and MAX tiers reaching 1.3 million and 2.8 million. Nomi may match it in practice and does not publish a figure to check. At the opposite end, Kupid AI publishes a 30-message window on Pro and 100 on Ultra.
Which AI dating chatbot is best for adult roleplay?
OurDream AI if you want media with it, since images, voice calls and video are all priced in coins against a monthly grant. SpicyChat AI if you want it free โ its free plan includes unlimited messages, the whole library, adult content and character creation with no card. Character.AI is the wrong choice at any price, because it filters adult content on the paid tier too.
Can AI dating chatbots help with real dating?
Blush is the only product here that claims to, describing itself as practice for relationship skills in a low-stakes setting, and that claim has never been independently tested. Everything else on this page is entertainment and does not present itself otherwise. For messaging real people you want a dating assistant, which is a different category.
Are AI dating chatbots safe?
Safety here is mostly a data question, and four apps answer it plainly. Candy AI states that conversations are encrypted, are not used to train public models, and can be deleted at any time. CrushOn AI states that free chat history is deleted after seven days of inactivity. Nomi states that chats are anonymised and not shared. Janitor AI is clear that attaching an external model sends your conversation to that provider. GPTGirlfriend publishes nothing about retention at all. Use a separate email, keep identity documents and financial details out of chats, and check what a charge will look like on a statement โ Candy AI, for one, bills as EverAI.
Is Character.AI good for AI dating roleplay?
For fictional, non-explicit romance it is the strongest free option here, with the largest character library and free character creation. Two things have changed that buyers should know: the free tier now carries advertising and a slow mode, both of which c.ai+ removes at $9.99 a month or $94.99 a year, and Charms have been added as a second currency alongside the subscription.
Should I use OurDream AI or Candy AI for AI dating chat?
Candy AI if you want to try before deciding: seven days of full access, then $6.30 a month on annual billing. OurDream AI if you want to forecast the bill: $9.99 a month on annual billing with 1,000 coins, which works out at 5 cents an image, 50 cents a voice minute and a dollar per five-second clip. Candy is cheaper and does not price its tokens; OurDream is dearer and prices everything. The longer version is in OurDream AI vs Candy AI.
Final Recommendation
If you want a relationship rather than a session, buy Nomi and accept that you will learn the price at the payment screen. Its memory design is the reason the rest of the product works, and no rival on this page has organised itself around continuity to the same degree. If you would rather know the bill first, OurDream AI is the only app here where a month can be costed in advance โ $9.99 billed yearly, 1,000 coins, and a published rate for every action they pay for.
If you are not ready to commit to either, use Candy AI's seven free days properly. It is the only offer on this page long enough to judge how a companion actually writes, and a week of real use will tell you more than any table here. If disclosure is what you care about, Kindroid is the honest answer to the whole page: it publishes its memory in characters, its prices in two currencies, its refund policy in blunt terms, and it sits sixth only because it is a companion builder rather than a dating product.
For the dating mechanic itself there is one choice, Blush, and it is mobile-only with no published price. For love-simulator framing, Romantic AI. For adult roleplay without spending anything, SpicyChat AI's free tier is the most generous on this page and will outlast most people's curiosity. For maximum control, Janitor AI costs nothing and asks for an evening of setup in return.
Whatever you pick, decide first whether you are buying memory, media or variety, because no plan converts one into another. For a wider shortlist read best AI companion apps; for girlfriend-specific rankings, best AI girlfriend apps; and for character-first scenes, AI roleplay chatbots.
